Looking for fun in the midnight sun? Tie on your running shoes in the middle of the night.
Runners and walkers have two chances to get out on June 20. Those in Fairbanks can sign up for the 10K Midnight Sun Fun Run, as well as related events. The annual Mayor’s Marathon, half marathon, five-miler and Youth Cup will be held in Anchorage the same day.
One week later, three Alaska communities will hold their “Only Fools Run at Midnight” events. The 1-mile walk and 5K run/walk is scheduled for 11:59 p.m. June 27 in Ketchikan, Sitka and Juneau. The event is a fund-raiser for Southeast Alaska Independent Living.
