How to Sprout:

You will need:

  • 1 jar (1 quart – 1 gallon)
  • Screen or netting
  • 1 Rubber band
  • Fresh water
  • 1 bowl to prop jar
  • 1 – 4 tablespoons of seeds

Sprouting seeds:

  • Alfalfa, red clover, radish, fenugreek, lentils, peas, and mung beans
  • Less Common:  cabbage, sunflower seeds, broccoli, garbanzos, mustard seed, and quinoa

Directions:

Put the seeds in the jar and cover with the mesh netting.  Put into place using the rubber band.  Add water, swirl, then drain.  Next, add 1 cup of cool water and let the mixture soak for 4 – 8 hours.

Rinse the seeds twice daily with cool water.  Drain after rinsing and invert the jar propped at an angle against the bowl. In 3 – 6 days the sprouts should be 1 – 2      inches long and ready to be enjoyed! Refrigerate in a closed container until eaten.
